We’re one of the world’s largest users of recycled paper in our products. We utilise environmentally responsible shipping, reducing our carbon footprint and diverting waste from landfills. We ensure human rights are respected in our facilities, as well as our global supply chain. We pilot product and packaging innovations that lessen our impact on the environment for generations to come.
As a founding member of the U.K. and U.S. Plastics Pacts, we’re committed to solving the problem of plastic waste. By 2025, 100% of our packaging will be reusable, recyclable, or compostable.
We’re working to create the smallest footprint in energy, waste, and water. Our 2030 goal is to reduce Scope* 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 50%, and Scope 3 by 20%.
Our facilities worldwide partner with local recyclers to upcycle our manufacturing waste, reaching 97% landfill-free status by 2019. Australia and New Zealand are targeting zero landfill waste at our Millicent Mill facility by 2022.
Teaming with key partners, we’re investing in nature-based solutions to help restore the biodiversity of forests and bushlands across Australia and New Zealand.
Water is essential to our business and the communities where our sites are located. Our commitment to recover and recycle water drives our 2030 goal to achieve sustainable water use at 100% of our facilities in water-stressed regions.
*Our Scopes 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions, and our efforts to reduce them, are calculated by the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.
Reduce Environmental Impact without Compromising Hygiene
Using state-of-the-art electricity cogeneration (COGEN), our Millicent Mill generates 90% of the facility’s energy on-site.
Scott® and Kleenex® brand hand towels manufactured in Australia use up to 30% less fibre and are more absorbent due to our innovative Airflex™ technology.
