Chain of Custody Certification

Chain of custody certification is a mechanism for tracing certified material from the forest to the final product to provide certainty that the product or product line, about which a claim is being made, is linked to a certified forest.

The certification by independent, third-party auditors under the PEFC scheme involves detailed procedures that bring together separate audits and certification of the following processes:

Wood from all sources is certified, under chain of custody, as legally harvested and not from controversial sources. Detailed calculations confirm that we have over 80% of fibre sourced from forests certified under PEFC as sustainably managed. We are working with suppliers to aim for 100% of our wood and fibres from certified forests.

The PEFC logo featured on Kimberly-Clark Professional products has a code that confirms that the item is genuinely certified under the PEFC scheme. The PEFC code for Kimberly-Clark Australia is 21-31-18.
